McDonald’s Stepped Brochure

If you haven’t seen the Netflix movie “Founder” about the start of McDonald’s it’s pretty interesting. I think many people believe that McDonald’s started in Chicago but it was actually in California. The founder of McDonald’s chain restaurants, Ray Kroc, discovered the key to expanding the franchise was owning the real estate to lease to franchisees. As the 6th largest employer in the US, McDonald’s has a lot of HR literature to print.
This bilingual brochure summarizes the health insurance benefits for employees utilizing stepped pages. The tabs help the employees navigate to sections on medical, dental and vision, and also let’s them know who contact with questions. It speaks to both English and Spanish speakers without having different brochure versions to pass out. The key to McDonald’s success has been efficiency and this brochure demonstrates the thought that goes into even an HR brochure. By having one brochure, you eliminate the logistics of handling 2 versions and ensuring there are enough for English and Spanish speakers. It’s simple…every restaurant gets 50 brochures.
