Company Overview

Envision3 is a $15 million marketing service provider and commercial printing company based in the Chicago area. They specialize in high-end UV printing, digital printing, direct mail, die cutting and full bindery services, as well as a full-service, in-house agency. With a well-diversified client portfolio, Envision3 grew during the recession by acquiring struggling print manufacturing companies.


Situation and Opportunity

With the purchase of a state-of-the-art digital press, Envision3 was ready to meet a growing demand for short-run print jobs. Digital printing is growing because of the cheap setup, low administration costs, no salesperson necessary, quick proofing, and short downtime between jobs. Many clients were looking to build customized, branded online e-commerce stores for marketing collateral like business cards, postcards, letterhead, and more. Vista Print pioneered this business model for the general public, but Envision3’s goal was to create white-labeled web-to-print sites for qualifying customers.



The Engage Platform was a solution developed and powered by Envision3. Licensed software created the basic PHP and JavaScript framework for the website. The platform helped large organizations consolidate and manage print resources for their employees. Qualifying organizations needed more than 100 employees/users and a print volume of greater than $50,000 per year. A small, negotiated website setup fee covered the cost of programming templates and editing CSS with the client's brand. Monthly fees covered website maintenance, customer service, order fulfillment and new user setup. We built branded web-to-print platforms for large non-profit organizations, restaurant chains, an education publisher, and a pharmaceutical company.

My Contributions

  • Prospected and made contact with organizations to schedule webinars

  • Created webinar presentation and tutorial content

  • Performed live webinar presentations to decision makers via GoToMeeting, Fuze Meeting, Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts

  • Recorded tutorial and training videos for new users

  • Negotiated and developed pricing and contracts and closed deals

  • Oversaw development of customized e-commerce stores including CSS customization, product development, user registration and permissions, and invoicing

  • Planned, wrote, and programmed email drip campaigns for registered users

  • Created training courses for administrative users

  • Planned and attended tradeshows to promote Engage platform, which included developing pre-conference direct mail campaign, coordinating design and purchasing of booth displays, giveaways, and marketing collateral, and performing live product demonstrations

  • Networked with prospective clients and collected contact information for follow up

  • Orchestrated follow-up campaigns to new contacts from tradeshows
